Artist statement
Coralie Fournier-Moris: Corps de vent
Coralie Fournier-Moris' work often addresses themes related to identity, memory and culture. She uses photography to tell stories and capture meaningful moments, often linked to social or personal contexts. She has also developed projects that explore everyday life and human interactions, seeking to create a visual dialogue between the viewer and the subjects of her photographs.
For example, « Corps de vent » is a tribute to Hippolyte Bayard’s first photographic self-portrait, «Self-portrait of the drowned person», but also to the passage of time, and to Roland Barthes' work, «La chambre Claire».
Biography
Coralie Fournier-Moris is a photographer and visual artist. She lives in Nantes, France.
After studying photography at the École des Beaux-Arts, I turned to teaching while continuing to practise various traditional techniques, such as salted paper and cyanotype, as well as more recent techniques, such as digital photography and photo editing. I am now a photographer and a teacher of applied arts at a high school in Nantes. I practise both analogue and digital photography. I have been fortunate enough to have had some wonderful opportunities in Europe and the United States. Recently, my work has been exhibited in a library and an art gallery in France.
